Jury Duty
So, I've been summoned as Juror 153 tomorrow. Never been on Jury duty before. Should be interesting, I suppose. I hope it's not longer than one or two days. I've got Easter Vigil rehearsal on Friday down at St. Andrew's.
I served on a jury once. It was a multi-million dollar lawsuit. A teenage girl decided to suddently do a u-turn on the Interstate and got clipped by a tractor trailer. She died, so her parents sued the trucking company.
I found myself as the only holdout against finding of the plaintiff. What was surprising was how easily jurors were swayed by emotional arguments along the lines of "She was such a beautiful girl -- let's give her some money!"
I'm a 28-year-old pastor in his first appointment at Coos Bay First United Methodist Church. I'm married, and my wife is an Elementary School teacher. We have a 2-year-old son, Karthik.

Wow, you have all the fun! I've only ever been called as a juror (twice), immediately after moving away from a place....
Did you want readers at the rehearsal?
